On Friday, February 14th, De Ceuvel is hosting the second edition of the Evening of Boundlessness, a special Valentine’s Day event, this time with the theme: ‘Boundless Love’. The program is a celebration and an opportunity to come together in a relaxed atmosphere, focusing on solidarity, connection, and the sharing of personal stories.

STORYTELLING – At 8:00 PM, the storytelling session begins in the Crossboat, where participants share non-fictional or fictional experiences about their lives, their journey to love, and the challenges they have encountered in this undefined process so far. These personal stories offer an intimate glimpse into the experiences and resilience of people in their relationship with the world.

HOST
Willem Dieleman
will once again host the evening.

TIP: To secure a seat at the storytelling program, reservations will be possible starting the first week of January.

DONATIONS WELCOME
De Ceuvel sponsors this event to keep it free for the public while ensuring that the artists are fairly compensated for their art. Would you like to contribute? Feel free to donate a voluntary amount during the evening and help us organize the Evening of Boundlessness again. Thank you so much in advance for your support!

SUCCESS OF THE FIRST EDITION
The first edition on 25/10/2024 was a success! With a packed program featuring six speakers, it was a long session, but nonetheless, the speakers managed to captivate the audience through the interactive element of questions and answers. Since no one in the audience knows in advance what the speakers will share, this element of surprise ensures that people remain present in the moment, beyond logic, fully engaged with their emotions and attention in the story. An additional effect is the creation of a certain tension in the room, resulting in a unique experience.

We are deeply grateful to the speakers of the first edition for delivering an unforgettable evening:

Adam Dawood (Palestine), Willem Dieleman (Netherlands), Naomi Namutebi (Uganda), Begum Nisli Maxwell (Turkey), Xina Mercken (Belgium) + Háshem Kabreet (Syria), Jugal Bhinde (India).

PUBLICATION IN Het Parool
Mohammadlheman, a 23-year-old Syrian with Palestinian roots, was one of the attendees, accompanied by Romy van Baarsen, who wrote a beautiful piece in Het Parool about the evening.

“For him, De Ceuvel, with its boats and lights, felt like a sort of Disneyland. This was the first storytelling night he had ever attended. The story of a humanitarian worker who, despite the restrictions of Meloni’s policies, is still trying to save boat refugees, deeply moved him. There were more stories, from people who, like him, had to flee. I saw how his eyes began to sparkle when he saw people like him on stage. They weren’t just welcome here; they were even applauded.”

– Romy van Baarsen, Parool 1/11/2024
