Tengu Malina is a duet born in 2018 which aims to present distinctive interpretations of music across a variety of genres.They offer a repertoire
full of shades and colours, transporting the audience from the engaging rhythm of Swing and Samba, to the quiet atmosphere of beautiful
jazz ballads and Bossa Nova songs. Moreover, for a more modern touch, they offer reinterpretations of well-known Pop pieces from both Italian and international culture.

The duet is Martina “Effy” Bergonzoni on vocals and guitar and Niccolò Zanella on saxophone. Both undertook professional studies at the most renowned conservatories in Europe, respectively, the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam and the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. Over the years of their collaboration, they have had the opportunity to create a special musical relationship, making their performance unique, refined and sophisticated.

Tengu Malina is a currently active project, performing around Europe, especially in Italy and in the Netherlands. Among the various performances, in 2018 they performed for the event “Make the World Great Again Festival” and for the pilot event for the “RooftopFestival” in Amsterdam, Netherlands. During 2019-2021 they often collaborated with the “Amsterdam Music Project”, playing in the most prestigious venues in the city of Amsterdam such as “Zoku”, “De Ceuvel” and “Cultureel Cafe Bacchus”. In 2020 they played in one of the biggest cultural events in Amsterdam, the “Grachten Festival”.
