About the artist YAN
YAN is Jan van Eerd. Jan studied vibraphone and drums at the Royal Conservatory and subsequently worked with artists like Spinvis, Yung Nnelg, Ellen ten Damme, Hadewych Minis and Wende. As a producer he produced numerous albums and won an Edison for the album Mens (Human) by Wende. But now Jan is mainly YAN. Solo. YAN’s music is electronic with vintage synthesizers from the seventies and eighties at its base. The vibraphone and marimba are the heart of his productions, but are interspersed with hang, percussion and vocals. YAN’s music is sometimes hushed and cinematic, but it can also be danceable and solid. Inspired by and fits right in with Jon Hopkins, Four Tet, Nils Frahm and Philip Glass.
