A Spiritual Ecology workshop

You may have never heard of Spiritual Ecology before, like me until last year. You might have some ideas and connection to either or both of the words. Or maybe you have a hunch you want to live in a different way, less busy and distracted, more simply. Perhaps you feel the urgency for us to radically change the way we live: to not only make peace on Earth, but make peace with Earth. And maybe you don’t know where to start.

If any of this resonates with you, you’re so welcome to join.

This evening workshop is a light introduction into the body of work of Spiritual Ecology. We’ll explore what Spiritual Ecology is through a few central questions: What is sacred to you? What does it mean to be in service? What griefs you and what gives you joy in this time?
I will share two helpful practices around nature connection and together, we’ll weave poetry into all of this. Because to me, life is sacred, and poetry is life.

There’s room for 20 people.
We’re organising this evening on the basis of gift economy. There is no fixed fee to attend this evening, you are warmly invited to contribute what you want.

Kindly register before August 30th so we know you’re coming and can save your seat! You can register using this form.

A little about me:

I am Maaike Boumans (30), a poet, traveller and host. I hold an MSc in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability and have been working around these topics for the past five years. After a powerful experience at a 5-day solo retreat in nature a few years ago, I’ve been longing to deepen my connection with nature. To learn to speak her language again, live my life from a place of reverence and simplicity. This has brought me to Spiritual Ecology – a journey I have just begun. I would love to meet you on this journey and am thankful for De Ceuvel and Metabolic Lab for offering their space for this gathering.

This workshop is delivered as part of the St Ethelburga’s Spiritual Ecology programme. St Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation and Peace empowers the next generation of leaders to put spiritual values into action.
