We’ve been working with the organic food co-op Odin (known for the Estafette winkels) to build our very own beehive! Jos Willemse, Odin’s beekeeper, has set up the hive behind Metabolic Lab and will come every two months to check on the colony and make sure the bees are happy.

The idea is not to make honey, rather to let the bees pollinate the local plants and flowers. Jos is also going to organise educational workshops about beekeeping from time to time, so keep an eye out for those!

May is officially bee month and Odin is organising bee-related events throughout the country. We are screening the documentary More than Honey on 16th May. For the full programme, check out Odin’s website.
