The Neighbour Boat: Space for your activity

Do you have an idea and are you looking for a space? The Neighbour Boat on the Ceuvel is the place where ideas and activities from the neighborhood can find a home. We make our space available free of charge for activities that contribute to a more connected, creative, and sustainable world. And that are publicly accessible and financially inclusive.

About the neighbour boat

The Neighbour Boat at the Workship is a former houseboat on land, located at the De Ceuvel creative hub in Amsterdam-Noord. The boat has been transformed into a studio and small-scale meeting place for public programming, with a focus on community, sustainability, and creativity. It’s an intimate space where local residents, makers, and initiators can easily bring their ideas to life. From workshops and lectures to yoga, knitting clubs, and small-scale cultural or social gatherings.

With the Neighbour Boat, De Ceuvel strengthens its role as a breeding ground and a connection with the neighborhood by actively providing space for local exchange, engagement, and collective development.

Who is the Neighbour Boat for:

The Neighbour Boat is for local residents and event organizers looking for a space. You can apply if you have a detailed plan, but also if you have an idea that needs further development. Our program manager, Tessa, can help you. Furthermore, the Ceuvel supports the program by placing activities on its agenda. We prefer activities that take place more frequently to foster continuity and community building.

The Neighbour Boat isn’t a conventional rental venue, but a sanctuary where local energy and ideas can thrive and flourish, with support from De Ceuvel. Does your activity not meet the requirements? Then check out our venue rentals.
