De Buurtboot: Space for Your Activity

Do you have an idea and are you looking for a space? De Buurtboot at De Ceuvel is the place where ideas and activities from the neighborhood can land. We offer our space free of charge for activities that contribute to a more connected, creative, and sustainable world. Activities must be publicly accessible and financially inclusive.

About De Buurtboot

De Buurtboot at the Workship is a former houseboat on land, located at the creative hub De Ceuvel in Amsterdam North. The boat has been transformed into a studio and small-scale meeting space for public programming, with a focus on community, sustainability, and creativity. It is an intimate space where local residents, makers, and initiators can easily bring their ideas to life. From workshops and lectures to yoga, knitting clubs, and small-scale cultural or social gatherings.

With De Buurtboot, De Ceuvel strengthens its role as a creative hub and its connection to the neighborhood by actively providing space for local exchange, engagement, and collective development.

Who is De Buurtboot for:

De Buurtboot is for local residents and initiators looking for a space. You can apply if you already have a developed plan, but also if you have an idea that still needs shaping. Our programmer Tessa can think along with you. De Ceuvel also supports by publishing activities on the Ceuvel agenda. We prefer activities that take place regularly, creating continuity and community building.

De Buurtboot is not a commercial rental location, but a free space where local energy and ideas can land and grow, supported by De Ceuvel. Does your activity not meet the requirements? Then check out the venue rental options.
