ABOUT BOKEMEI
The Ghanaian name ‘Bo Ke Mei’ means ‘You and Me’ and stands for teamwork. Initiator and chairman Abbey is Ghanaian and has lived in the Netherlands for 39 years. He knows what poverty is and wants to give something back to his country. Together with a loyal group of motivated people.

In consultation with local king and population, their focus is on education, training and employment. As there were no schools nearby, they started building a school complex on their own land. Around 200 children from poor families have now been attending kindergarten and primary education for 9 years. From 2015, secondary education also started (Junior High school). In 2018, the school complex was completed and the official opening celebrated. Meanwhile, the number of school children is around 300.

Bradu emphasises the harmony between senses like house, afrobeat, hip-hop, funk, jazz and techno as one organic body (music).
