Café de Ceuvel hosts a people’s kitchen every Monday evening. Six days a week we are a regular restaurant, where you are waited on, your table is cleared, and guests are treated like royalty. But on Monday evenings we are simply a living room where we eat together with anyone who feels like joining. The atmosphere is relaxed and warm: young and old sit together at long tables and everyone chats eagerly about the news of the day. You serve yourself from big pots and pour a cup of tea from a thermos on the table. Nothing fancy, nothing fussy, just eating with the people from your neighbourhood. Come by and experience it for yourself, and you’ll find you want to join us every Monday at the Ceuvel.
Joining the meal is free in principle, because we want the People’s Kitchen to be accessible to everyone. Of course, cooking for 100 people does cost something. That’s why we ask our guests for a donation. To cover our costs, a donation of between €5 and €15 is welcome, but if that’s too much for you, just give what you can spare. And if you can’t spare anything at all, that’s perfectly fine too!
