What is your favorite place at De Ceuvel?
“The entrance to the site. Every time I arrive at De Ceuvel, I am momentarily overwhelmed by how beautiful and unique this creative hub is, and I feel so grateful to be able to work here. De Ceuvel looks a little different every day: there are new animals to greet, the plants have grown or changed color, and the light falls differently on the water.”
How does De Ceuvel strengthen your work?
“It is incredibly valuable (especially as a freelancer) to work among people with such different areas of expertise who are so driven and socially engaged. This leads to enjoyable moments and great conversations that make me feel more embedded in a community as an independent professional and help me stay motivated and sharp in my work.”
How do you see the future of De Ceuvel?
“As a literally and figuratively flourishing creative hub! In the future, De Ceuvel will be widely known as a place for creative and innovative research and craftsmanship in sustainability. Here, you can play and learn with nature and culture, connect with inspiring people, and relax in a beautiful environment. It’s a place that reminds you of everything that makes the world beautiful and inspires you to contribute to it.”
How does your work contribute to De Ceuvel?
“Fashion and clothing bring together many different fields: art, craftsmanship, ecology, sociology, psychology, and economics. Because of this, my work connects with that of many other Ceuvel residents and Amsterdammers, creating a strong foundation for collaboration. In the future, I hope to organize programming—such as discussion evenings or workshops—on fashion, clothing, and handcrafts for De Ceuvel and the local community.”
Additionally, I help take care of the greenery at De Ceuvel as part of the Green & Zoöp team.”
