Ceuvel + youth + film = Kabaalmakers
Kabaalmakers is based at De Ceuvel and creates documentaries for youth, with the youth. The goal of the workshop is to create stories that matter to them. In the workshop, we teach young people how to use their voice through video, encouraging them to collaborate. The combination of the location, the activity, and the subject of the vlogs they make is unique. By making a story together at De Ceuvel, the youth are encouraged to think critically about themes of sustainable living and how they relate to these topics.
What will we do?
In groups, we will make individual scenes that together form one vlog about sustainable living. We will choose the topic in advance and assign subthemes to the different groups. We will give a brief tour and ask the groups to pay attention to what fits their topic. The youth will receive a script form that they will fill out with their group and further develop under the guidance of the workshop leaders. They will shoot footage of the environment, present in front of the camera, and conduct an interview. The videos from the groups will form a vlog that they will receive after the event, and we will post it online on Kabaalmakers’ channels.
